About Me

Amanda works at the University of Oxford with the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) — a research centre that developed the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), now used in over 100 developing countries and globally by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the Human Development Report Office (HDRO).

She holds a degree in Governance and International Relations (Honours) from Uganda Christian University. Her professional journey began as a Tour Organiser for the renowned African Children’s Choir, followed by a traineeship at the European Union Delegation, where she worked in the Political, Press & Information and Governance & Human Rights sections.

Amanda later received the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Master’s Scholarship, completing her Master’s in African Studies with a focus on regional governance and development cooperation. Her studies took her across Portugal, France, and Germany, and included fieldwork in Arusha, Tanzania.

Amanda is passionate about mentoring and helping young people recognise and shape their ambitions — no matter how big or small they may seem. Whether you’re 10 and simply want a listening ear for your curiosities, 18 and figuring out your path, or 23 and navigating university lifeher door is open. She believes in the power of small, everyday opportunities as building blocks for far-reaching impact.
